Individuals and societies who do not seek them, who instead seek leisure, entertainment and strong emotions, do not evolve, and are destined for constant regression. Fortunately, somewhere, there are individuals who go the opposite way, and they will take charge of dragging the heavy ballast. This does not mean that the great spectacular film does not have the same dignity and the same need to exist as an art film. It doesn’t mean that an entertainment film can’t also include a certain amount of genuine artistic pursuit.

Today, the famed historic district is home to many of Los Angeles's major historic sites (including ones we've previously listed on this page). The Flight Path Learning Center & Museums houses objects and information on the history of aviation. You'll find scale models of aircraft, flight attendant uniforms, and general airline memorabilia such as playing cards, china, magazines, signs, even a TWA gate information sign. Simon Rodia spent 33 years building the Watts Towers on a small piece of land he purchased in 1917. The Watts Towers are made up of 17 interconnected sculptural towers, architectural structures, and individual sculptural features and mosaics.

The museum's mission is to "celebrate and promote an awareness of progressive architecture and design in everyday life." Built in 1834, the Andres Pico Adobe is one of the oldest adobe structures in the City of Los Angeles.
